How to check the fit
- Measure a 20.9-by-14.2-inch parking area for the opened basket and the route between storage, laundry and folding locations.
- For flat storage, measure the full footprint as well as the 0.8-inch thickness. Folding lowers the height but does not shrink the published width or depth.
- Choose a reachable storage position that does not obstruct doors, vents or walking routes. Leave room to grip and remove the folded basket.
- Keep the planned load within 9 kg/19.8 lb and comfortable for the person carrying it. Do not fill it solely by available volume; dense or damp items can weigh more.
What this changes—and what it does not
A collapsible transport basket must be emptied to gain its storage advantage. If laundry remains in it continuously, it occupies its open footprint. It is therefore a different purchase from a tall, slim hamper intended to hold laundry between wash days.
Continue using an existing laundry bag if it is comfortable, appropriate for the contents and easier to store. A basket offers a different carrying shape, but this research does not establish that one is more comfortable for every person or staircase.
